Amazon Home Must Haves
Home Decor
1. Oak Wood Picture Frame
I bought this oak picture frame for my kitchen, and it’s gorgeous. The frame has a subtle grain texture which I love. It’s modern, simple, and comes in over 10 different sizes!
2. Floating Shelves
Next up is these floating shelves, which is actually what I used to display the oak wood picture frame I just talked about! It comes in a set of 3, so you have the option to either use all them together or separate them in different rooms. These shelves are super easy to install!
3. Plant Stand
This plant stand has a beautiful mid-century modern design. It can sit either low or high – you have the option to flip it upside down! Plus, the legs extend to accommodate between an 8 and 12 inch pot. As an added sustainability bonus, a tree is planted with every purchase!
4. Peel and Stick Wallpaper
If you read my most recent post on wallpaper ideas, you know my new favourite thing is using peel-and-stick wallpaper to brighten up areas of my home! This grey floral wallpaper was recently used to level up my utility closet, and I couldn’t be happier with the results!
5. Microfiber Bath Mat
The bath mat in my guest bathroom was starting to look a little dingy, so I decided to replace it with this microfiber bath mat. I personally chose white for my space, but there’s also beige, grey, navy, black, blue, and green options – plus tons of different sizes! Swapping out a bathmat (especially one that’s worn out) is a great way to refresh a bathroom space.
Organization
6. Bamboo Kitchen Organizer
It always bothered me that I had one drawer in my kitchen overflowing with mismatched ziploc boxes, aluminum foil boxes, etc. This bamboo organizer is the perfect solution! It completely transformed this previously chaotic drawer.
7. Ultra-Thin Hangers
For closet organization, especially in small spaces, ultra-thin hangers are a must-have. These hangers are amazing because they swivel, and are non-slip!
8. Cable Holder
Cable holders are a must-have for technology organization. I use these in my office to keep my cables separated and under control. They’re super easy to use – just peel and stick the adhesive to attach!
Practical Items
9. Vacuum Seal Bags
Top at the list of practical items I’ve bought this year has to be these vacuum seal bags. If you’re short on space, you need to buy these immediately. Vacuum seal bags are incredibly easy to use, and save so much space by shrinking the size of your clothes, sheets, comforters, etc.
When it’s summertime, I store my bulky winter coats, scarves, and sweaters in my storage space with these bags! This pack comes with 25 bags of all different sizes (including 5 travel roll-up bags!), but you can also buy smaller or larger sizes to meet your needs.
10. Mini Steam Iron
With tons of travel for weddings recently, I purchased this mini steam iron. It’s super compact, but still does an amazing job of ironing/steaming clothes. I love the rotatable handle. Although I initially bought this for travel…I love it so much, I also use it at home too!
11. Drying Rack
My home doesn’t have a laundry room, our washer/dryer are stacked in a closet. So, I was looking for a drying rack option that didn’t take up a ton of room (since it would be in my bedroom). I found these retractable drying racks, and love them! I now use 2 for hanging laundry indoors. When not in use, they blend into the wall really well which is exactly what I wanted.
12. Claw Clips
Next in this section of practical items is these claw clips! Throwing hair up in a claw clip is a go-to hairstyle for me. I already had some thicker/longer clips, but bought these smaller ones to do a half up, half down style. Or, if your hair is on the thinner side, this may be able to hold all your hair. I love the neutral colours of these claw clips.
13. Screwless Wall Plate
If you read my post on inexpensive ways to update your home, you probably saw these screwless wall plates. Many of the outlets in my home were outdated and getting replaced anyways, so I opted for these screwless wall plates and couldn’t be happier with the result. The tiny difference of not having screws on every light switch, outlet, etc. is so satisfying! It’s a much cleaner look than what I had before.
Kitchen Accessories
14. Salt and Pepper Shaker
My salt and pepper shakers were on their last legs when I finally decided to replace them with these bamboo shakers. These are such an amazing upgrade! The bamboo looks amazing on my dining table, and I love that you can adjust the coarseness too.
15. Vegetable Chopper
I actually bought this vegetable chopper as a gift for my boyfriend, but have found myself using it tons. Especially when I’m making things like soups, stir fry, or quesadillas (vegetable-heavy dishes), this chopper is a major time saver. It’s so easy to use! This is definitely one of my top 10 home must haves, especially for cooking lovers.
16. Kitchen Utensil Set
Up until this year, my kitchen utensils were a hodgepoge of hand-me-downs, worn out, and mismatched items. I finally decided to upgrade to this silicone cooking utensil set and I love it! It’s a super reasonable price for everything you get, and looks amazing sitting on your counter.
17. Glass Soap Dispenser
The most recent addition to my kitchen is this set of glass soap dispensers. I was getting tired of seeing my colourful, branded, and mismatched dish soap containers on my countertops. These dispensers have such a clean, simple look and the simplistic stickers really draw the whole set together.
Technology Accessories
18. Air Tag Case
For Christmas this past year, I got an Air Tag and love it. It’s super handy for travel, and just generally not losing my belongings! The Air Tag case is super helpful to not only protect your air tag (with the silicone cover), but also to easily attach to your keys, backpack, purse etc (with the keychain).
19. Laptop Case
Lastly, I can’t believe it took me so long to get this… but I finally purchased a protective laptop case! I actually broke my laptop screen during my last move, and it’s haunted me since then. You can’t be too careful when it comes to protecting your valuable electronics! Plus, it helps that this laptop case is SUPER cute. It’s a beautiful accessory!
