Amazon Favourites | 14 Essentials Every Apartment Needs
In the past few years, I’ve bought a ton of great products for my apartment, but I’ve narrowed down my top 14 Amazon favourites!
Amazon can be a very overwhelming place to shop because it has literally thousands of products in every category! That’s why I love reading about other people’s Amazon favourites, it helps uncover so many hidden gems. So, I thought it would be fun to share my top 14 Amazon favourites!
I went through my Amazon order history and also reviewed past blog posts to see what products I continue to mention over and over. In this post, I break down my list of Amazon must haves into categories including home decor & organization, kitchen, bathroom, and technology! These are my tried-and-true favourites that would be great additions to your apartment, or could be awesome gifts for friends and family!

Home Decor and Organization
1. Storage Basket
Storage baskets are one of my all-time favourite storage items, because they also double as cute decor! Cotton rope baskets like the one linked above look so cozy, but also hold a ton! I use these all over the house to store blankets, cords, shoes, and more!
2. Floating Shelves
Floating shelves are another one of my Amazon must haves. They’re perfect to bring some life to empty walls with either home decor (ex. display photos or plants), or storage (ex. for bathroom products). Floating shelves are an essential because they can are incredibly versatile and can be used in so many different rooms!
3. Instax Photo Frame
Regular photo frames are great, but there’s something so cute about framing polaroids. I love having photos on display to make a home feel more personal. This frame can either be mounted on a wall or displayed on a countertop!
4. Turntable With Bins
Cabinet Turntable and Organizer
Turntables are one of my holy grail favourites, which is why I had to put them on this list! They can be used in the pantry, in the kitchen, in the bathroom- there’s really no bad place for them. I love this turntable in particular because the bins are awesome to separate items like snacks or bottles.
If you’re looking regular turntables (without bins), I love this set that comes with 2 different sizes.
5. Drawer Organizers
Similar to turntables, drawer organizers can quite literally be used anywhere. That’s why I had to include them on this Amazon essentials list! Drawer organizers are amazing for keeping desk drawers, bathroom vanity drawers, kitchen cabinet drawers, and so much more organized! They prevent clutter and overflowing drawers by separating your items into categories.

6. Veggie Chopper
One of the most essential kitchen tools is definitely a veggie chopper. It will save you SO much time prepping meals and doesn’t take up a ton of room either.
If you don’t have one yet, I highly recommend the Fullstar Cutter. It has over 20,000 5-star reviews! This veggie cutter comes with multiple blade options so you can dice vegetables (large or small), and even spiralize!
7. Mixing Bowl Set
If you bake at all, you know that mixing bowls can take up a ton of space. This set solves that problem because it all stacks together. It comes with so many essentials including a mixing bowl (small & large), colander, sieve, and measuring cups. I also think the colours are so cute!
This set would be a perfect “starter set” if you’re moving into a new place, or if your bowls are taking over your cabinet space and you’re looking to save some space.
8. Digital Meat Thermometer
I consider myself to be a decent cook, but when it comes to cooking meat I honestly have no idea what I’m doing. Since I’m afraid to under-cook my meat, it always turns out over-done.
This digital meat thermometer is a game-changer! With manual thermometers, you have to constantly take your dish in and out of the oven to check its temperature. On this digital thermometer you can set an alert so it notifies you when your meat reaches the desired temperature. It takes the guess work out of cooking!

9. Poo-Pourri Bathroom Freshener
I have absolutely no shame including this on my Amazon favourites list! If you’ve never heard of Poo-Pourri before, it’s a toilet spray you use “before-you-go” to mask odour! It’s great for people who share bathrooms, or to leave out in your bathroom for guests!
I like the lavender scent (linked above), but another popular scent is their original citrus scent.
10. Light-Up Makeup Mirror
I never thought I needed a light-up mirror until I used one at a family member’s home. If your bathroom is dark or doesn’t have good natural light, this mirror will help you make sure your makeup looks natural.
The mirror also has handy features like suction (so you can stick it to your mirror), and multiple charging options (battery-powered or USB).
Technology Essentials
11. Car Phone Holder
When I recently moved to a new city, I used Google Maps to get literally everywhere. Without a phone holder, I found myself constantly losing my phone in the car, or having to glance down at the phone on my passenger seat to get a quick look at the maps. This car mount easily clips onto my air vent which keeps my phone in one place and allows me to see navigation easily! It’s very sturdy and convenient.
12. Webcam Cover Slide
I’m not sure where I got the idea that someone could be watching me through my webcam….but once I got the thought in my mind it was impossible to get out!
These webcam covers stick onto your laptop, tablet, etc. and allow you to easily switch between covering and uncovering your webcam! I find it great for work-from-home too, I never have to worry about whether my camera’s accidentally on, because it’s blocked unless I slide the toggle!
13. Selfie Stick Tripod
Remember when selfie sticks were a thing? Well…I consider the selfie stick tripod to be a slightly more useful version. The best part of this set is it comes with a remote! So instead of setting up self-timer and running back and forth to take multiple photos, you can take pictures with the click of a button!
I’ve found this set super helpful for taking photos with family and friends, because you don’t have to designate someone to take the photo and therefore miss the group shot! Everyone can be included, and you can easily snap as many group shots as you’d like.
14. Extra-Long Phone Charging Cord
You can never have too many phone charging cords. I use chargers in my car, in my bedroom, at my office, with portable chargers, and so many other places! So I always like to have lots of charging cords, instead of bringing the same one everywhere (and inevitably forgetting it).
This set comes with 3 charging cords. It’s extra long (6 feet!), which makes it easier to charge when outlets are in hard-to-reach places.
