10 Best Books To Read in 2021
Looking for new books to read in 2021? In this blog post, I’ll share some of my favourite fiction and non-fiction books I’ve read recently.
In 2020, we all spent a lot more time at home. While I definitely watched a lot of shows on Netflix, I also read a lot of books. Personally, I flip flop between fiction and non fiction books. Books about productivity and finance are inspiring, but fiction books are always a great way to escape reality too. I’m sharing with you some of my favourite books that I think you’ll love.

Best Books to Read in 2021
Fiction Books
1. The Silent Patient
This book is hands down one of the best thrillers I’ve ever read. I was absolutely hooked from the very first chapter. It’s suspenseful, intriguing, and will keep you guessing to the very end.
2. The Guest List
Sticking with the theme of a good thriller, this book us such a page turner! I love that this book flip flops between different characters’ viewpoints.
3. American Dirt
This fictional book tells the story of a mother and her child trying to survive as migrants. You will be drawn in by the action right at the beginning, and you will stay captivated throughout the entire book. Prepare to be taken on an emotional journey with the characters!
4. Where the Crawdads Sing
I’m pretty sure I read this book in one weekend….that’s always a sign of a great book! This book is a unique blend of romance and mystery that will have you drawn in the entire time.
5. The Great Alone
This book tells a story of a young girl navigating through a difficult family environment in northern Alaska. I grew so attached to the main character in this book! It’s an incredible story of hardship and resilience.
6. Such a Fun Age
Although I am normally a sucker for thriller and drama novels, this book was an exception. It touches on race and privilege in such a brilliant way. I enjoy the author’s light, witty tone in her writing.
Non-Fiction Books
7. Atomic Habits
Atomic habits is one of those books that will leave you feeling inspired and ready to take on the world! I think we can all relate to wanting to improve ourselves, but not knowing where to start. This book gives ample ideas of tiny changes we can make in our day-to-day lives that can add up to a huge impact.
8. Untamed
This memoir has received unbelievable hype this year, and now I understand why! The author writes in such a relatable tone, and takes you through a roller coaster of emotions in each chapter.
9. I Will Teach You To Be Rich
Buy I Will Teach You to be Rich
If you’re interested in personal finance, I highly recommend this book! It’s not new by any means, but I found all the advice to still be relevant today. There’s so many great takeaways like the importance of starting investing early, automation, and the concept of “conscious spending”.
10. The Moment of Lift
Melinda Gates is the author of this book about female empowerment. She shares beautiful anecdotes from her personal life and philanthropic work. She sheds light on the reality of the lives of marginalized women around the world, and shares lessons we can all learn from.
